Lori's Leading Role

there is no sleep for Agamemnon tonight
his wife
his life 
has left us
her furies taking flight


take to the skies with vengeance
as wicked spirits soar
destroy  the lies
that held Lori’s eyes
we must hear you roar


roar like theres no tomorrow
roar to tear at pride
roar so near
that all can hear
this loss we feel inside


Lori’s light has left us
our cheerleader on the field
her smile could call the sunlight
with a laugh that would not yield


she loved to play her roles
on life’s stage that set her free
big or small she played them all
in ways that inspired me


she found sweet romance
in the art of dance
where the music stole her heart
her talent grew
and we all knew
this too would be her part


yet she struggled in her reflection
as i’m sure we can all relate
though full of doubt
as she paced about
she never turned to hate


as a mother she found hope
a passion in her soul
her self-neglect
did not reflect
this love that made her whole


her children were her purpose
a reason true and clear
it was their eyes
that stilled the lies
that Lori held so near


so come furies come
from the shadows and the deep 
hear Clytemnestra’s call
as she rouses you from sleep


take to the skies with vengeance

that haunt our eyes
we must hear you roar

this loss we feel inside


though Lori’s light has left us
her legacy lives in me
it lives in all her children
and on this stage that set her free


her legacy lies in you
and the memories that you shared
be sure to give them to the world
to show how much she cared


to say goodbye seems empty
to a friend now beyond the moon
go be ridiculous with Jesus
we’ll be together soon

 Fecal Fortress there is a frequency to failure a sound that draws me in it holds me with familiar hands it seeps beneath my skin it promises such freedom if i just lay down and quit it convinces me i deserve it as i make my bed in shit denial meets me on the ground and caresses me with lies she tries to bury all my shame with her calm seductive eyes i lose myself in her as her lips now spark my skin each kiss a burning dagger that embraces all my sins “you are just a victim” she whispers with those lips “save your cares for later”  sung in rhythm with her hips i spiral into ecstasy  as she touches all my fears she buries them this fecal fortress a home for all these years “stay with me forever” she pleads while tasting sweat her tongue knows no limits as my satisfactions met at the peak of my release she falls onto my chest buried in her auburn hair i simply choose to rest ... matt francis
